Mangalagiri saree is a handloom textile from Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, characterized by its unique Nizam border with intricate inverted checks and tiny dots, a crisp finish, and minimal to no woven designs on the body of the saree. Traditionally woven from pure cotton on pit looms, these sarees are known for their tight weave that gives them a characteristic sheen and overall softness and durability. They are made in both plain cotton and a blend of silk and cotton, with the latter offering a lighter, more comfortable feel.
